In 2025, Amsterdam will celebrate its 750th anniversary and De Beeldentuin in Garderen invites you to experience this special milestone in a unique way! With the new theme "750 years of Amsterdam," the annual sand sculpture exhibition presents a journey through the rich history of our capital city, rendered in imposing works of sand art. We will open the doors April 1, 2025 and in mid-March you are already welcome to take a look behind the scenes during construction. You will see a large part of the exhibition which is already finished, but there are also artists still at work. You will be able to see the art!

More than 150 carefully crafted sculptures bring the past to life and connect it to the present, allowing visitors to experience the story of Amsterdam in all its facets. This exhibition is unique in the world and is being created especially for the celebration of Amsterdam 750 years. Stand eye to eye with life-size sand sculptures of greats such as Rembrandt and Van Gogh, created by the best sand artists in the world. Meet the (sand) people of the Night Watch, read all about the proud West India Company, experience the revolutionary seventeenth-century urban expansions and the impressive architecture of the Rijksmuseum and the Concertgebouw. Each sand sculpture tells a story and brings you closer to Amsterdam's rich past and dynamism. A visual spectacle that brings history, art and craftsmanship to life.
