In 2009, the first edition of Sand Sculptures Garderen (formerly 't Veluws Zandsculpturenfestijn) was organized on the grounds of the Sculpture Garden. And ... successfully, because the exhibition has grown into the largest sand sculpture event in the Netherlands! There is always something innovative to see. In short: over the years the Sculpture Garden has become a complete park where, especially in combination with a visit to the Sand Sculptures, you will have a great day out!
Over 25 Years of Sculpture Garden
The Sculpture Garden in Garderen is over 25 years old. But ... how did it all begin? In 1994 Adri and Joke van Ee started fabricating molds and casting (garden) sculptures. This is how the idea was born to open the Sculpture Garden, an open space where all sculptures, large and small, got a nice spot. In 2007, construction began on a real two-story residential shopping village with cozy cobblestone streets including a town square with a fountain. And ... where the coffee corner used to be, you will now find Lunchroom the Rose Garden. Meanwhile, this space has grown into a catering facility with over 130 seats with (heated) terrace. Here you will be pampered by people with disabilities and their supervisors. And... you can taste that!
Sand Restaurant
The self-service restaurant with both an indoor and outdoor terrace, is located on the grounds of Sand Sculptures Garderen. You can therefore only visit here in combination with a visit to the Sand Sculptures.
