Frequently Asked Questions

We can't buy the tickets online, now what?

It is not mandatory to buy online. If you do not manage to buy tickets online, you can simply buy the tickets at the box office.

Until when is the exhibition open this season?

The exhibition is open until Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 (note different opening hours during holidays)

We have a discount card. How can we use it?

There is a CODE on the discount cards, you can enter this in the online order under PROMOTIECODE. The corresponding discount will then be processed. If no code is listed, you can hand it in at the box office when you buy the tickets there.

Can you eat and drink at the Sand Sculptures?

Yes! We have two different catering points on site for a delicious cup of coffee or a full lunch: Lunchroom The Rose Garden (free to enter) and a self-service restaurant near the Sand Sculptures)

Is the exhibition wheelchair accessible?

Yes, like the Sculpture Garden and the home store, the exhibit is wheelchair accessible. The paths are paved and wide enough for a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Wheelchair toilets are also available on the grounds. Free wheelchairs are available at the entrance. You only need a token just like a shopping cart!

Are wheelchairs available?

Yes there are (free) wheelchairs available near the parking lot. For this you will need a 50 cent or 1 euro coin to disconnect them (just like at the supermarket, you will get it back afterwards)

What about parking?

There is a parking lot in front of the door with ample parking. A day ticket costs 4.50 euros and can be purchased in advance online, or on site at the box office.

Is there adequate parking?

Yes! Near the entrance, by the way, there are several disabled parking spaces available.

How long will the viewing take?

On average, a visit to just the sand sculptures takes about 2 hours. Of course, the visit varies from person to person. Some view the sand sculptures very closely and pay attention to all the details, while others have seen it faster. In addition to the sand sculptures, there is also the Sculpture Garden (free admission) which also includes a wood sculpture exhibition and catering facilities.

Are dogs also welcome?

Dogs are welcome, if leashed. However, we would like to point out that some people are afraid of large dogs. We ask you to take this into account.

Is the exhibition covered?

Yes, most (about 2/3) of the Sand Sculptures is covered (not heated), so it is a perfect outing even in rain or lesser weather! But... there are also sand sculptures to admire outside, and in nice weather you can use the outdoor terrace.

Is the museum annual card, CJP pass or (Friends) lottery pass valid with you?

No, unfortunately these are not valid with us.

Is the exhibition also suitable for the elderly?

Yes indeed, all the sights are a short walk from each other and the trails are well trodden. There are several points on the grounds where you can sit for a while.

Aren't the sculptures rained out?

The sand sculptures are coated with a special layer of varnish. This protects them from rain and hail. If any damage does occur, it is repaired immediately by a carver (sand artist). By the way, most damage still occurs because people can't keep their hands off the statues. So... we kindly ask everyone not to touch the statues!
