On Jan. 6, 2025, the annual Day of the Blind was held to conclude the 2024 season. The event was a great success! More than 150 visually impaired people attended, many accompanied by a companion or assistance dog. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with a delicious cup of coffee or tea and a pastry, which provided a warm start to the day, despite the inclement weather. Then visitors had the chance to experience the sand sculptures in a unique way. The guide was available throughout the day to tell the stories behind the artworks. This personal guidance was much appreciated and made the visit extra special. The visitors' reactions spoke volumes: "Great!", "So beautiful to see, even if I don't see anything," and "What an impressive experience." For many attendees, it was a unique opportunity to "see" the sculptures with their hands and imagination, leading to much admiration and wonder. We hope to welcome everyone again next year!
